Have A Sweet New Year With Our Favorite Cocktails

Spicy MangoFor many people the new year comes with new promises to eat better, reduce calories, reduce sugars and try to be a healthier version of oneself. As we say goodbye to 2016 and welcome in 2017, we want to help you get a jump start on those resolutions by providing some celebratory cocktails that are unique, taste combinations and lower in sugar.

Our Spicy, Mango, Jalapeno Cocktail will help to keep you warm this New Year’s Eve by balancing the sweetness of the mangos with the spice of the jalapeno.Check out our recipe below.

 

Ingredients
  • ¼ cup Tequila
  • ⅓ cup Unsweetened Mango Pulp
  • 1 whole Fresh Lime
  • 1 whole Fresh Jalapeno
  • 1-2 packets Stevia (PureVia)
  • Cold Water
Instructions
  1. Add mango pulp to a chilled glass.
  2. Using your palm to apply slight pressure, roll the lemon on a table or counter surface to release juices.
  3. Slice the lime in half and squeeze juice into the strawberry mixture.
  4. Thinly slice jalapeno.
  5. Add 3 slices to cocktail glass.
  6. Add tequila and swirl the glass to gently
  7. Top with cold water.
  8. Sever chilled.
  9. Note: For a spicier cocktail, allow the jalapeno slices to steep in the tequila for 1-2 hours before adding other ingredients.

strawberry basil for pintrestIf you don’t like spice another option for the New Year’s festivities is our Strawberry Basil Cocktail. Combining the freshness of the basil with the sweetness of the strawberries and a little stevia, this drink is the perfect way to ring in the new year.

Ingredients
  • 1 pint Fresh strawberries
  • 1 whole Fresh lemon
  • 7 whole Basil leaves
  • 1 tbs Sugar
  • 10-12 packets Stevia (Purevia)
  • ½ cup Gin
  • Seltzer (Chilled)
Instructions
  1. Thinly slice strawberries.
  2. Combine strawberries, stevia and sugar in a bowl.
  3. Zest about ¼ tsp of the lemon and add to the strawberries.
  4. Mix well to coat the berries.
  5. Cover the strawberry bowl and refrigerate for 1-4 hours.
  6. Using your palm to apply slight pressure, roll the lemon on a table or counter surface to release juices.
  7. Slice the lemon in half and squeeze juice into the strawberry mixture.
  8. Roll basil leaves into a tube shape and carefully slice into strips.
  9. Add freshly sliced basil to the strawberry mixture and mix well to blend.
  10. In separate glasses, divide the strawberry into equal portions.
  11. Add 1 oz gin to each glass.
  12. Top with seltzer and serve immediately.
