Dr. Bernadene Magnuson is a scientific consultant specializing in food toxicology and ingredient safety and regulation. One of her areas of expertise is in the safety assessment of low calorie sweeteners. In addition to consulting, Dr. Magnuson is an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Nutritional Sciences and Co-director of the Program in Food Safety Nutrition and Regulatory Affairs (PFSNRA) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. She obtained her BSc. degree in food science, MSc degree in toxicology, and a PhD in Food and Nutritional Sciences from universities in Canada. Dr. Magnuson has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and professional articles, and is a Fellow of the Academy of Toxicological Sciences.
